Hippo is a fully automatic lock. It automatically locks and unlocks when containers are lifted.
MacGregor automatic twistlock ACV-1, “Hippo”
Automatic twistlock does not require any manual operation on board the ship. When vessel is sailing the automatic twistlock secures containers reliably together. When at port, it automatically engages containers to each other during loading and opens automatically during discharging of containers.
Hippo
The MacGregor ACV-1, “Hippo”, automatic twistlock is extremely simple, easy and safe to operate. It is designed for active duty and benefits from decades of experience MacGregor has in marine container securing operations. The hot-dip galvanized housing guarantees durable performance and trouble-free operation throughout its lifetime. SteveKnob operated securing device in the top cone of ACV-1 prevents the twistlock from falling out even during rough operations.
