Key benefits
Shore planners optimise for payload and timelines, but rarely have the vessel’s actual sailing conditions. Lashmate bridges that gap, giving both planners and crew instant, precise verification of lashing and structural forces.
- Safely maximise container intake and payload capacity while maintaining absolute rule compliance through precise, software-verified calculation of lashing and structural limits.
- Reliable, software-verified calculation of lashing and structural forces for on-deck and in-hold containers, removing reliance on generic estimates.
- Affordable one-time purchase with no ongoing monthly or yearly subscription fees.
- An open alternative to loading computer native lashing modules, giving you the freedom to integrate Lashmate into third-party loading systems and choose the best tool for the job.
- Minimal learning curve with rapid crew onboarding, as Lashmate integrates directly into familiar loading computers. Crews can be trained to confidently interpret and utilise it in just a few hours.
- Swift, free-of-charge technical support and bug fixes whenever you need a lashing module prepared or have a technical issue that needs solving.
Key features
Lashmate calculates structural and lashing equipment forces for on-deck containers and permissible stack weights for in-hold containers, with flexible integration into your existing loading computer or as a standalone tool.
- Comprehensive class compliance with structural and lashing force calculations in strict accordance with major classification societies, including DNV, LR, ABS, BV, KR, and NKK.
- Clear visual alerts that instantly flag excessive forces in container structures or lashing equipment, both on deck and in holds, using intuitive visual indicators.
- Universal data compatibility reading and processing standard EDIFACT BAPLIE files smoothly, ensuring zero friction when exchanging data between back offices and the vessel.
- Flexible integration via API, button implementation, or standalone operation, adapting to the tools you already use.
- Permissible stack weight calculation determining exact maximum stack weight limits for in-hold containers.
- Final check mode for validating the absolute safety of the final loading case before departure.
- Simulated hydrostatics mode enables users to add or remove containers, change container types and weights, and adjust the vessel's hydrostatic data. It also provides the ability to recalculate and optimize stacks so you can see the full potential of your cargo system..
- Summary and detailed reporting generating printouts of all utilised lashing equipment and exporting bay screen printouts displaying precise forces, lashing arrangements, and individual container weights.

Integration Options
Every shipowner operates differently. Lashmate does not force you to change your infrastructure; it adapts to the tools you already use.
- API Integration (Automated): connects directly to your loading computer. Lashing forces and safety alerts appear on the main loading screen in real time.
- Button Implementation (One-Click): launches from a button inside your loading computer, imports hydrostatics and cargo data, and highlights rule violations. A single click refreshes after stowage changes.
- Standalone Operation: runs independently for smaller vessels or office-based assessments, with manual container input and hydrostatic adjustment.
-
Classification Society Compliance
Lashmate is fully endorsed by major classification societies to provide an accurate, software-verified lashing module across an entire fleet. Calculations are executed in full compliance with the following Classification Society Rules:
- American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
- Bureau Veritas (BV)
- DNV
- Lloyd’s Register (LR)
- Korean Register (KR)
- ClassNK

Technical Features
Calculation capabilities
Each individual container stack is rigorously assessed for longitudinal and transversal wind/motion forces across multiple stowage variables:
- Stowage dimensions: supports both longitudinal and transversal stowage of containers.
- Lashing systems: compatible with multiple container lashing configurations and systems.
- Mixed stacks: capable of calculating complex mixed container configurations (e.g., 20ft containers topped with 40ft containers).
Evaluated loading casesEach stack is calculated against the following explicit directional force vectors:
- Door side, force from Port Side (PS)
- Door side, force from Starboard (STB)
- Closed end side, force from Port Side (PS)
- Closed end side, force from Starboard (STB)
- Left side of the stack (longitudinal forces)
- Right side of the stack (longitudinal forces)
- Transversal wind forces
- Longitudinal wind forces
Supported file formats- *.LMUD (Container Mass Distribution Files): created by modern loading programs; these include both hydrostatic data and container codes.
- *.edi (EDIFACT BAPLIE Bayplan Files): universal files used for transmitting occupied vessel positions. Supports versions 1.5 and 2.0.7.
- *.pml (PLANMASTER Files): internal data files generated by the PLANMASTER loading software.
- *.asc (CASP51 and CASP60 Files): internal data files generated by CASP51 or CASP60 loading programs.
- *.dat (LOADING DAT Files): created by legacy loading programs (primarily DOS-based); these contain hydrostatic data but exclude container codes.
-
User Interface
The software features an intuitive and user-friendly visual interface designed to keep cargo officers and planners fully informed:
- Vessel Side View: displays informed lashing conditions across all vessel bays.
Full Bay View: provides comprehensive visualization for container stacks both on deck and in hold. - Colour-Coded Status Indicators: delivers instantaneous visual feedback on bay safety status based on current calculation results.
- Detailed On-Deck Layouts: breaks down explicit on-deck lashing arrangements, weight distributions, and forces.
- Vessel Side View: displays informed lashing conditions across all vessel bays.
-
